Standing around with nothing to do
staring out of the window into a virual reality
people falling over themselves to mock me
it’s another normal day in my world

The sound of silence deafens me as i wake
emptiness fills the space next to me where you once lay
the kettle boils next to a single coffee cup
I’ll just have to get used to my solitary confinement

By mid-afternoon my day’s over, I’m instantly bored
I sit alone, watching endless re-runs of 70s TV
I know every word of the entire script in my head
there must be some other way i can kill time

I return to my bed, but I can never sleep
a pen and paper offer themselves for fun
the lamp goes out and i close my eyes,
to dream of you so far away
